My MacBook Pro has been declared legally dead and now I've gotten a new shiny notebook to work on. It's a bit of a difference from the ordinary for me - I'm a dyed in the wool Mac girl and using a Windows 7 PC is a bit to get used to. As always, the first thing that comes to mind is that MS really needs to stop trying to be Apple. Windows 7 is better in some areas than its predecessor, but it still tries to ape OS X and fails horribly.

I'm also getting used to a keyboard that has the enter/return key in a place that is just off normal as to where I'm used to it, and creates some interesting typos as I work. I know I'll eventually get used to it, but moving between platforms and shiny newness... still takes a while.

Thankfully I've got wonderful software that makes releases for both Windows and Mac, so I've just had to download and install the Windows versions of the software. I'm really eager to get the full, final version of Scrivener for Windows in June, so I can have the ability to write on both Mac and Windows without having to export, import and otherwise deal with hell.  Scrivener and Dropbox have been my saviors throughout the writing and revising process this year, and I'm not sure I'd want to deal with writing now without them. Ok, if technology blows up, then yes, I'm fine with going back to pen and paper, but we're talking second coming type things here. 

I also know I've been very bad about updating here lately. Call it life turmoil - things haven't been good for posting - one of the things that depression does is sap your energy and will to do anything fun. Right now I've been going through a personal tough time and also dealing with medication changes that will hopefully make things better. 

So, for now, I bid you all farewell and return to the land of writing.
