How Hard Can It Be?

The answer to that is, very.
I think for this year, I’m officially giving up on getting my NaNoWriMo novel done.
I’m stuck at 9000 words, and I need to be closer to 20000 to have any chance of finishing it on time. Heaven only knows that I may finish it on time, but the likelihood of that happening is, oh, slim to none on both a realistic and statistical level.
Not that this is a bad thing. It’s got me writing again, which definitely is a good thing. It’s got the creative juices flowing again, yet another good thing.
But I’m not going to kill myself creatively just to meet a target right now. There are more important things to deal with in life. Like my upcoming trip. I don’t want to be burnt out to travel, and I know that going someplace new will have a positive creative effect on me, so I want the brain to not be fried.
To my fellow NaNoWriMo buddies – keep on – I may have dropped out of the race, but you can do it!
